Proxemics, Pre- and Post- Covid

In a world before the global pandemic (Covid-19), everyone was in one another's personal space. Now, post the significant height of the pandemic, people can get too close to one another, but people still keep their distance and wear masks. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/health-wellness/2021/05/27/covid-19-pandemic-easing-but-safe-hug-again/7465636002/      Starting with public, before Covid, your public space was 4 or 5 feet. Post- Covid, public space was walking to another aisle in the grocery store. We were all told to keep 6 feet apart. However, some people took that to an extreme, like doing 10 feet, or didn't listen, like breathing down your neck. Design that's not Sublime

You don't realize it but if you look around you'll see it. Designs that aren't eye catching are a lot with your everyday things such as doors and windows. Those are two of the bigger things in design that can be sublime but are mainly thought of in a basic way. (drawing by author)     A basic door not being overly attractive just shows that its for functionality over style, which is the whole overlay of a design not being sublime. Seeing basic door in this way can make it where there are no distractions from the rest of the design of the building. Using a basic door in this manor helps with the idea of its practicality. And the experience is simple of the closer to a room or an opener to a space over all. https://www.amazon.com/WINSOON-5-16FT-Single-Sliding-Hardware/dp/B06XSCKQK9      So if you have a door like this (picture above) that gives the design with practicality and the look of it going along with the rest o...

Design Philosophy in Design

When trying to figure out your design philosophy, can be difficult. What helped me was to look around and just find the styles and aesthetics that you are drawn to. I would then look up and do research on the different styles in general on Pinterest mainly.  drawing by author I see design philosophy as my style and aesthetic that I've decorated with before and enjoy designing now. I enjoy modern/ contemporary style with plants and sharp and some curved lines. I use this style as a way to have a clean and simple style that you can change at any time if need be. As well as, designing with a modern/ contemporary space that can bring joy and relaxation. My experience is just enjoying designing the idea of creating a clean space with newer styles that draw in the interest of all that are around. Also, to just create a nice creative space.                           ...
